The new bird hide overlooking Budworth Mere was opened officially by Leader of Cheshire West and Chester Council, Cllr Louise Gittins. The hide was made possible by funding from Inovyn (through the Landfill Communities Fund), Marbury Ward Councillors, Anderton Concrete (part of the Ibstock Group) and FoAM. In addition, local business, Focalpoint Optics have donated bird food for the feeders near the new hide.
FoAM is funding survey work at Ashton’s Flash as part of gathering the evidence needed to support getting more of Northwich Woodlands classified as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The group has also agreed to fund new ductwork and equipment in the workshop at Marbury to reduce dust from woodworking activities and improve the working conditions.
