Anderton Nature Park

Anderton Nature Park and Anderton Boat Lift

Anderton Nature Park was one of the first areas of the Northwich Woodlands to be reclaimed. It is now a haven for wildlife in particular wild flowers which can be discovered by following the Wildflower Trail (leaflets available, in season, from the Rangers’ Office and the Boat Lift). Children and adults alike have fun discovering the art located around the site.

The Nature Park is adjacent to the Anderton Boat Lift. Built in 1875 and restored to full working order in 2002, the lift is currently closed for essential maintenance but there is still much to enjoy.

Experience a ‘Boat Trip’ along the River Weaver or a guided ‘Walking the Lift Tour’, each lasting about 50 minutes and running several times a day.  Book online or at the Vistor Centre – online recommended to avoid disappointment.

The Visitor Centre is open every day (except Thursdays) from Easter to end October, with an exhibition, coffee shop, children’s play area and gift shop.
