Marbury and Witton Flashes Bird Report 2024
Greg Baker has again compiled and edited a report of resident and migrant bird species to be found at the Marbury and Witton Flashes (also known as Northwich Woodlands). The number of species recorded in 2024 was 143. An obvious memorable event this year was the wholly unexpected breeding attempt by a pair of Marsh Harriers at Ashton’s Flash. The pair were inexperienced and although the attempt was unsuccessful, we hope they will return older and wiser in 2025!
